mwcwmwdaSiyum (mwdqebraico: סיום – "completamento") sta ad indicare il completamento di una data unità o passo della mwdgmwdwTōrāh (mweamweqPentateuco), o di un libro/trattato della mwegMishnah o mwewTalmud nell'mwfaEbraismo. A mwfqsiyum viene usualmente seguito da un pasto di celebrazione, o mwfgseudat mitzvah, pasto in onore di una mwfwmwgamitzvah, o comandamento. mwgqSiyum si riferisce anche alla celebrazione stessa.

Una tradizione durevole è quella in cui una data comunità completa un'unità di Torah o un trattato del Talmud durante i 30 giorni che seguono il decesso di un parente e si tiene quindi un mwgwsiyum in comune subito dopo, in tributo e onore alla memoria del defunto.

È diventata tradizione che la propria mwhqsinagoga organizzi il mwhgsiyum la mattina prima di mwhwPesach per permettere a coloro che digiunano per mwiaTa'anit Bekhorim ("mwiqDigiuno del Primogenito") di rompere il digiuno, secondo il principio mwigmwiwhalakhico che dà priorità allo mwjastudio della Torah.

Rabbi [[Moshe Feinstein]], based on the ''Nemukei Yosef'', the Ran ([[Nissim of Gerona|Rabbeinu Nissim]]), the [[Rashbam]], and the ''Eliyah Rabbah'', extends the concept of a ''siyum'' to include even a festive meal celebrating the completion of any mitzvah (commandment) that has taken a significant duration of time (such as a number of weeks or months). ==Siyum HaShas== An event known as the [[Siyum HaShas]] marks the completion of the entire Talmud in the [[Daf Yomi]] study program, in which one ''daf'' or [[wikt:folio|folio]]<ref&#x3E;A ''daf'', or "blatt" in [[Yiddish language|Yiddish]], consists of both sides of the page.</ref&#x3E; of Talmud is completed each day. Under this program, the entire Talmud is covered every seven and a half years.
